This is a self-directed course intended for new teachers (including teaching assistants and doctoral students) who have teaching responsibility at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong. The course consists of 9 modules, of which introduces key concepts relevant to the application of technology in virtual teaching and learning environment, drawing on diverse theory and practice from the field of e-learning. Some timely topics include teaching online synchronous lessons, developing multimedia contents, enhancing student engagement, supporting students with special educational needs, and using online assessments. Upon completion, you will acquire an informed perspective about online instructional design and skills necessary for translating such knowledge into your pedagogical contexts.
This course is offered by Education and Teaching on KEEPMoodle and will be at the disposal of teachers from other higher education institutions following its launch.
